A rich land… of landscapes
The department of Calvados is home to some of the most beautiful beaches in the region, including the beach of Vierville-sur-Mer and the beach of Colleville-sur-Mer, ideal for watching the sun set on the fine sand.
The Cotentin marshes
The Maison du Parc is the ideal place to walk around, discover and understand the marshes, in all seasons, with your family, your class or a group of friends. Located in Carentan-les-Marais, it is also the entrance to a garden and a remarkable natural area.
The Jardin des Têtards and the sensitive natural area of the Ponts d’Ouve marshes allow you to take advantage of the preserved environment of the marshes, to stroll in a very natural garden or to venture on a 100 ha island in the heart of the marshes. It is also possible to go on boat trips.
The state forest of Cerisy
It is composed of more than 2000 hectares, mainly composed of beech trees, and belonged to William the Conqueror. Managed since 1976 by the Office Nationale des Forêts (ONF), the forest of Cerisy is also a national nature reserve. The Tourist Office/Maison de la Forêt welcomes you to Montfiquet to learn more about this forest, through its permanent and free exhibition, and its many animations.
The gardens of Castillon-Plantbessin
